Kanañ da Zoue, kanañ d'an Neñvoù... Ar ganaouenn-mañ bet kanet e gouezeleg hag e latin en ur c'hemeskañ an div yezh e hirvoudoù ha leñvadennoù o sevel ken uhel a-us deomp...
Composed by Maol Iosa O'Brolchain (monk Columban foundations in Ireland and Scotland). Written in Gaelic and Latin.
A silent sea round Inishfree Bay
Lay the salty road you're bound to take
A mighty blue sky clears on Bub Beg
As all your friends get head down and pray
And there's no sign of worries
There's no sign of fear round here
And so will remain
Just a sound of farewell
The whispers of the tears restrained
Deep in your eyes
Left in store the will and the thoughts
We shall saw here and there on the way
Left in peace your troubles and doubts
And the wrong turn you happened to take
May you rest so still and guide us as we drift away
Riddled by change
Now we've settled the waiting
The distance between you and us
Our convalescence
A silent sea round Inishfree Bay
Lay the salty road you're bound to take
A mighty blue sky clears on Bub Beg
As all your friends get head down and pray
And there's no sign of worries
There's no sign of fear round here
And so will remain
Just a sound of farewell
The whispers of the tears restrained
Deep in your eyes
Left and played the tunes
We will share now as your heritage
Left the laughs the tears we restrain
In the land of no fear and no age
May we give our lives a chance to wash away the pain
But never forget
You're still here round us
And so you're bound to stay for long
So long and farewell
Listen to my heart Sorrowful, alas I am lost without you And your wife The great love in your life She guided me Be with me always Day and night
[Chorus:] Lamenting the great loneliness The sorrowful tears Asleep in the quiet green grave In a deep peace
There was happiness But that departed It was he who followed you Your husband The great love in your life He guided me Be with me always Day and night
[Chorus]
I think of the day That you were beside ne Telling a story Of the old life I remember the day Without want and without gloom Be with me always Day and night
When I am down and, oh my soul, so weary; When troubles come and my heart burdened be; Then, I am still and wait here in the silence, Until you come and sit awhile with me.
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains; You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas; I am strong, when I am on your shoulders; You raise me up: To more than I can be.
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains; You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas; I am strong, when I am on your shoulders; You raise me up: To more than I can be.

Tá bean in Éirinn a phronnfadh séad domh is mo sháith le n-ól
Is tá bean in Éirinn is ba bhinne léithe mo ráfla ceoil
Ná seinm théad; atá bean in Éirinn is níorbh fhearr léi beo

Tá bean in Éirinn a bheadh ag éad liom mur' bhfaighfinn ach póg
Ó bhean ar aonach, nach ait an scéala, is mo dháimh féin leo;
